Wow, it’s hard to believe that summer is almost over and school starts back in less than a month.  Time really flies by unless you are feeling the effects of  Mercury Retrograde… then it appears as if we are moving backward or you may be feeling stuck.

Mercury Retrograde happens three to four times per year, when the planet Mercury slows down, and appears to go backwards in the sky due to our earthly orbit operating in tandem with Mercury’s orbit around the Sun. It’s just an optical illusion, but energetically it can make you feel as if you are standing still or even going backward.

Has this ever happened to you?  You know when you are sitting at a red light and the car beside you is moving forward slightly but it feels like you are the one moving backward – it really does play tricks with your mind.  This is what Mercury Retrograde feels like – energetically speaking.

Mercury is the planet in the sky which to those in ASTROLOGY land represents communications and ideas.  During retrograde it is a good time to reflect inwardly on how you are communicating, taking more time to listen instead of jumping in with solutions.  Reflect on the life that you have and the things in it for which you are grateful.  Finish projects that you may have started already.  Clear out the clutter on your desk or in your house and refocus on the things you want in your life.

And since Mercury often represents in mythology the Trickster, expect what you did not think to happen to happen. AND that can be a good thing. So think outside the box, slow down, and recommunicate if you are not sure of what you are hearing or feeling.

The good news is we are almost out of retrograde so be ready for things to kick in high gear again.  Enjoy the rest of your summer and remember…

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I want to take a minute to say thank you to everyone out there that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, working with, emailing or even just a brief encounter.

I always try to say thank you for everything that comes my way no matter what it is.

It brings about more good things but most importantly it makes ME feel good and I believe it makes the person giving, feel good too.

Over this holiday season I gave several gifts to individuals (that will remain anonymous) that never gave a thank you nor an acknowledgement of having ever received the gift.

I know for a fact that they did receive it but nary a word of anything.  At first I was a little hurt.

Did they not like it?

Did they not like me?

Did I offend them?

And all those thoughts that made me feel lousy.

You know me, I don’t like to feel lousy, so after working my thoughts about it, I realized that I shouldn’t give the gift with any expectations of anything in return…and in truth that is how all gifts should be given.

In fact, the definition of gift is: something voluntarily transferred by one person to another without compensation.

Isn’t looking for a thank you or any sort of response looking for compensation???

After some thought on the subject I came up with this: I gave the gift to let the recipient know that I was thinking of them, I care about them and I hope it brings them some joy.

How the gift is received isn’t really the point, although I still believe saying THANK YOU is a really great thing to do!

So THANK YOU for reading my newsletters, booking me for readings and coaching sessions.

THANK YOU for being my friends, acquaintences, clients and THANK YOU for being YOU.

Without YOU I wouldn’t have this newsletter and be the person that I am.

And a BIG THANK YOU to the 2 people who never did say thank you, as it gave me great things to think about!
