The Boogie Boarding Days of Summer!

07.06.10

Happy Summer to everyone!  I don’t know about you but I always look forward to summer; a break in the routine; camps for the kids; fun in the water (because let’s face it if you are outside in the summer in Florida – it is HOT and you need to be in some body of water.)  But the summer brings some craziness to it; expensive camps, juggling work and kids (more than usual) and a slow down of business. With all of that I still look forward to summer because it reminds me of my summers as a kid and how excited I was to be out of school and “wooo-hooo” the fun it would bring.

I had a ton of fun this past weekend. I took the kids to a beach house for the 4th of July weekend and we had  an amazing time.  We boogie boarded for 3 days straight and let me tell you I learned a lot from my kids, they really know how to live in the moment. They didn’t have a care in the world they were riding the waves, playing in the sand, laughing and enjoying every second of it.  When we were on the beach there were no worries of bill paying, relationship struggles or anything that was negative.  There was no watching the clock, we got up when we wanted to, we ate when we were hungry, we went to bed when we were tired, we went to family fun day, we climbed 203 steps to the top of the lighthouse, we watched fireworks and overall it was impossible to feel anything but JOY!

The best part of it all was playing in the ocean with the kids.  They were boogie boarding king and queen and I was right there with them.  I even lost my bathing suit bottoms at one point. It was impossible be feel anything but positive emotion (even with sand in your pants) as we were caught up in the moment of the sand, surf, waves, giggles and overall FUN!

I realized in that moment that we could all take a page from their books because that is how life is meant to be lived.  In the moment, enjoying whatever the day unfolds for you.  When we get caught up in the “Why is this happening to me,”  “What is my next step,” “What did I do to deserve this,” etc., etc we lose the moment and focus on all the negative things in life instead of focusing on the feeling of fun and joy.

I know it isn’t possible for everyone to get to the beach and this was extreme FUN and I know there are real worries (I’ve got some of them myself) but what if we stop worrying for just a moment.  The problems may not go away but we would certainly be happier in the process of it all.

It is all perspective, you can choose to be unhappy and negative or you can simply choose to feel better about everything no matter what your circumstances.  Life is meant to be ridden on a boogie board.  So, for this summer I choose to take a lesson from my kids – live in the moment and know that everything will always work out.  It always does!  Make it a Boogie Boarding Summer!

To be or not to be, that is the question!

03.15.10

If memory serves me correctly I believe when William Shakespeare wrote this line for Hamlet it was rather complex and was dealing with his own ideas of the meaning of life and death (and I could be way off here because I found Shakespeare very confusing and it has been a while since I studied it.)  Anyway, I think it is a really good question for today.

For those of you who know me I’ve been going through a bit of a life situation change and my friends closest to me have given me the message that I just need to “Be.”  Well again, for those who know me, I’m an ACTION girl, I make things happen, I coach others on how to make things happen, I’ve even been called (gasp) “controlling.”

So the concept of just “being” is one that is foreign to me.  Ironically when people ask how I’m doing I tell them I’m great and I’m just trying to let things “be” as they should.   But really, I’m behind the scenes trying to make things happen.  I’m the hamster in the wheel and my little legs are going about as fast as they can and I’m just going in circles and I’m not going anywhere.  So in the words of Dr. Phil “How’s that working for you?”

Well, it’s not.  I’m spinning in the wheel and I’ve manifested a cold/flu/sinus thing that is literally forcing me to not do anything.  We are going on week 3 of this and I’m really sick of being sick.  So, I get my lesson here is one of “being.”  Really “being.”  Now I know those who are still reading this is thinking “Yes, finally someone is going to tell me how to do this.”  And I am, so here goes:

Step 1:

You have to finally just say “this is out of my control” (and for us control-freak, A-types this is the hardest piece.) So say it with me:  “this is out of my control.”  And, I know you are still asking “How” do I do this.  Unfortunately, the answer is “you just do it.”  You can ask your Angels for help with this – Ask them to allow you to really release control, allow things to flow to you.  Ask for synchronicities to align for you to follow.  Ask them to take away all worry and fear, take a lot of deep breaths and keep practicing it over and over and over.

Step 2:

Really be “present.”  Stop multi-tasking (and this is coming from the multi-tasking queen.)  Do one thing at a time and embrace the task at hand.  If it is putting laundry in the dryer, just be present doing that – focus on the dampness of the clothes.  Smell the newly washed items as you put them into the dryer.  Feel the dryer sheet as you put it in the dryer.  If you are with your kids, same thing goes – really be “present.” If you are at work, just do one thing at a time.  You will find that you get as much done as you used to only with a whole lot less stress and if you don’t get it all done, it will be there tomorrow.

Step 3:

Identify and focus on the desired outcome and let the “how” unfold.  Take a minute each day and remember what we learned in Kindergarten and use your imagination.  Close your eyes and really imagine what you want; imagine what it “feels” like and see yourself already having/doing/being what you want.  This also takes lots and lots of practice.

Step 4:

Follow the synchronicities that will present themselves (and they will.)  Trust your intuition and follow what is presented – even if it isn’t exactly what you “think” it should be.  Trust and go with it!

Step 5:

Embrace and enjoy the process. If you look at it as if it is work then you won’t do it.  If you look at is as a way to slow down and just “BE” you have a much better chance of getting everything you want in life.

Don’t wait like I did and get sick before you allow yourself to “BE.”  Learn from my mistake and start right now, enjoy the present and enjoy just “being” and watch the magic unfold around you.

I’ll keep you posted on my progress and I’d love to hear about yours too!   I’d love to hear your comments and the things you are working on.  The more people you tell the more chance you have of accomplishing anything!  I’m happy to “be” your cheerleader!

In the words of William Shakespeare, Parting is such sweet sorrow:  Until next time!

Many Angel Blessings,

Elizabeth

Abundance and Prosperity in 2010

01.21.10

As I sit here today I have to tell you I’m a little bit confused and overwhelmed. I just listened to several speakers on a teleconference that was over the past couple of days and now I’m all in a frenzy of: I must manifest abundance, I must manifest abundance.  The messages are so mixed, set intentions, set goals, don’t worry about setting intentions, no need to set goals it is all about the mind-set of giving, just get into action, don’t worry about the action – AHHHH@#@%!

So I decided to meditate on it and what I received was this:  It is all about what works for you.  There is no right or wrong answer.  Setting goals and intentions is a good thing to do if you are so inclined, it helps you to focus on what your true desires really are.  It helps you define what you want in life.  Our purpose here is to be of service but that does not mean to the exclusion of serving yourself.  It is important for you to remember that without taking care of YOU, you cannot be of service to others.  So while the messages are mixed they all have an important place and need to be looked at as just a part of the whole.  Take what resonates with you now and don’t worry about the rest, leave the rest up to your Divine source as it has a way of working it out for you.

Ok, so now I can relax a bit and not worry so much about HOW I manifest abundance, but define what I want, take action in that direction and let the rest unfold as in Divine order and timing.

So my message to you this month is to do the same.  Take what resonates and don’t worry about all the rest of it.  There is no right or wrong way to attract all that you want in life.  The important thing is to enjoy NOW and not wait for “if I only had this, I’d be happy.”  That is what I’m going to do!

 Many Abundant Blessings,  Elizabeth
